Blue Man Group is back with a Brand New Show for 2012

Blue Man group

We’ve been keeping a close eye on the new attractions and shows which will open in Universal Studios Orlando this year. One of the most anticipated new shows is from the hysterical Blue Man Group, performing never-before-seen stunts and tricks. The new show opened this February and guests can see it for themselves right now.

For anyone unsure of what the Blue Man Group is all about, its a colourful trio of curious characters who perform music and create art in unusual ways and will almost certainly grab a volunteer from the audience to help them out. This is what sets the Blue Man Group apart from any other show, by using an interactive experience that encourages the audience to take part in the fun.

So what can we expect from the new show? One routine features huge iPad screens with a reality-bending app which mirrors actions and even changes their appearance, begging the explaination of how they did it.

The colourful trio will also be back with their signature musical instruments, one of which is a network of PVC piping used to play a Lady GaGa cover.

There is also a new 2.5D sequence which brings 2D characters to life in the 3D world, creating mesmerizing visuals and lighting effects.

Its easy to be transported to another world with the Blue Man Group, but there is an underlying message behind the fun and entertainment. There is a strong satirical notion towards society spending longer amounts of time surfing the web, e-mailing and texting. The Blue Man Group encourages the return of face-to-face communication and interaction with one another, without the use of electronic devices.

We can’t wait to check out this new show and recommend it to anyone visiting Universal Studios Orlando this year. For more information on tickets, see our Blue Man Group page.
