Walt Disney World’s forthcoming Art of Animation Resort hotel will be based around four of Disney’s most iconic animations, immersing its guests in the enchantment and artistry of Walt Disney and Disney Pixar classics.
With 1,120 suites designed in Finding Nemo, Cars and The Lion King themes, as well as 864 rooms inspired by The Little Mermaid, guests will feel as if they have stepped straight into their favourite animated films.
Located in the Disney’s Hollywood Studios Area, the first phase of this brand new Walt Disney World Resort hotel is scheduled to open in May 2012, beginning with the Finding Nemo wing.
As Disney World celebrated the birthday of Walt Disney himself on December 5th, previews were unveiled of this first wing being constructed, in particular the enormous statues (or icons) being installed by Disney’s Imagineering team; one of Mr. Ray and one of Nemo and Marlin inside a sea anemone.
The sprawling resort will also include three swimming pools and four courtyards-one for each film – as well as a host of other imaginative amenities.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is already welcoming reservations, and expects to be opening its remaining three wings in stages up until the end of 2012.
