The Ultimate 14-Day Florida Theme Park Itinerary

Planning a trip to Florida and want to fit as much as possible into two weeks without missing any of the best bits? This FloridaTix 14-day Florida theme park plan has you covered from day one to your last morning in the sunshine state.

Day 1 - Ease Yourself In

Take it easy and get yourself used to Florida time. Orlando is 5 hours behind the UK, so you might find yourself waking up at silly o'clock while you adjust to the time difference. Use this day to get your plans straight for the two incredible weeks ahead.

Insider Tip: Can't wait to get to the theme parks? Head to Magic Kingdom Park in the evening for the spectacular nighttime fireworks display over Cinderella Castle, Happily Ever After presented by Pandora Jewelry — the perfect introduction to your Florida holiday and a brilliant way to stay awake and beat the jet lag!

Day 2 - Magic Kingdom Park

Welcome to the most magical place on earth. With the iconic Cinderella Castle at its centre, Magic Kingdom Park is made up of six themed lands where you can meet your favourite Disney Characters, experience legendary rides and watch spectacular parades and fireworks shows.

Insider Tips: If you're staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, take advantage of early theme park entry where the parks open earlier especially for hotel guests.

Day 3 - EPCOT

Explore the culture and cuisine of 11 different countries, ride one of the fastest attractions at any Disney Park on Test Track presented by General Motors and experience the iconic Spaceship Earth - the giant geodesic sphere that's become the symbol of EPCOT.

Don't miss: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind - one of the most popular rides at EPCOT and it's easy to see why. This thrilling attraction sends you hurtling across the galaxy on the first-ever reverse launch in Disney Parks history, with a ride vehicle that rotates a full 360 degrees keeping you locked onto the action at every twist and turn. Fun fact - Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is one of the longest enclosed roller coasters in the world.

Day 4 — The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™

There are two amazing Harry Potter™ themed lands at Universal Orlando Resort - The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ — Hogsmeade™ at Universal's Islands of Adventure and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ - Diagon Alley™ at Universal Studios Florida.

Don't miss: The Hogwarts Express™ — take a real journey on the famous train connecting Hogsmeade™ with Diagon Alley™, with different views and experiences depending on which direction you're travelling.

Day 5 - Rest Day at Discovery Cove

After a few full-on days at the theme parks, you deserve some time out. The best place to relax and recover is Discovery Cove — an all-inclusive paradise where you can spend the day drifting along scenic rivers, hand-feeding exotic birds, snorkelling with tropical fish, relaxing on sandy beaches and even swimming with dolphins.

💡 Insider Tip: Book your Discovery Cove tickets well in advance. Only 1,300 visitors are admitted each day, which means no big crowds - but tickets can sell out very quickly.

Day 6 - SeaWorld Orlando

With record-breaking roller coasters, stunning ocean-inspired shows and up-close animal encounters, SeaWorld Orlando is one of Florida's most unique theme park experiences. SeaWorld also rescues and rehabilitates marine animals like dolphins and manatees, always with the aim of returning them to the ocean — and giving those who can't be released a forever home.

For the best value on food and drink, the SeaWorld All Day Dining Pass lets you eat and drink every 90 minutes throughout the day at participating SeaWorld Orlando's eateries. The 3 Visit-ticket: SeaWorld, Aquatica & Busch Gardens + Eat for Free and The Ultimate 3-Park Ticket include 3 days of all-day dining!

Day 7 - Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is home to some of Florida's most epic thrill rides, as well as over 12,000 wild and wonderful exotic animals, Busch Gardens is a must for adrenaline junkies, animal lovers and everyone in between.

Don't miss: Add-on the Serengeti Safari - an incredible adventure across the wild African plain where friendly giraffes will trot right over and feed straight from your hand. Have your camera ready for the ultimate selfie. Note that an additional ticket is required for the Serengeti Safari.

Day 8 - Rest Day: Shopping or the Beach

It's not all about the theme parks. Florida is famed for its incredible shopping and gorgeous beaches, so make sure you fit at least one — if not both — into your two weeks.

Shopping: You could easily spend a whole day at the Florida Mall, Central Florida's biggest shopping centre. If you're after a bargain, head to one of Orlando's Premium Outlet Villages where you can save up to 65%.

Beach: They don't call it the Sunshine State for nothing. With an average of 300 sunny days a year and hundreds of miles of coastline, you'll definitely get your fair share of Vitamin D. Florida has all kinds of beaches to suit whatever kind of day you're after.

Day 9 - Universal Islands of Adventure

Get ready to have fun with your favourite childhood heroes, comic book stars and cartoon characters at this incredible Universal Orlando Resort theme park, Universal Islands of Adventure.

Don't miss: Jurassic World VelociCoaster - speed through the jungle and soar high above the terrain on this record-breaking roller coaster, a high-speed dash through the park's Raptor Paddock. One of the most thrilling rides at Universal Orlando Resort and an absolute must-do.

In the evening: Don't miss the Blue Man Group show on International Drive - one of the most popular evening shows in Orlando, combining music, comedy, multimedia, theatrics and lots of paint. A brilliant family night out.

Day 10 - Universal Studios Florida

Every street plays like a different production zone. New York crackles with urban energy, Hollywood flashes with studio shine and Springfield, U.S.A. bursts with cartoon chaos. Scenes shift, characters appear and the action keeps moving with you.

Universal Studios Florida is where iconic films come to life - with next-generation rides, immersive lands, and world-famous attractions that make every visit feel like stepping straight onto the big screen.

Day 11 - Universal Epic Universe

Universal Epic Universe deserves a full day all to itself. Universal Epic Universe is home to five extraordinary worlds: SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™, Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ - Ministry of Magic™, Dark Universe, and How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk. From battling dark wizards and racing through the cosmos to flying with dragons and stepping inside your favourite video games, there's a full day of unforgettable experiences waiting to be discovered.

Insider Tip: Universal Epic Universe is open from 9am daily, with closing times varying by season. Check with the park before your visit for exact times on your chosen date.

Day 12 - Water Park Day!

When it comes to water parks, you're completely spoilt for choice in Orlando. Here are the most popular options to choose from:

Universal Volcano Bay*

Universal Orlando Resort's water theme park is built around the iconic Krakatau volcano, with thrilling attractions including the high-speed climbs and drops of Krakatau Aqua Coaster, the near-vertical drop of Ko'okiri Body Plunge and the sweeping raft runs of Honu ika Moana. Between rides, golden beaches, swaying palms and shimmering water create the perfect tropical escape - whether you're drifting past waterfalls or unwinding at Waturi Beach.

Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park or Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Walt Disney World Resort has not one but two water parks. If time is short and you can only visit one, our guides can help you decide between them.

Aquatica Orlando

Named the number one waterpark in the USA by readers of USA Today, Aquatica is SeaWorld's stunning waterpark where the fun is as endless as the sea itself. With super-sized slides, speedy splashdowns, wave pools, sandy shores and plenty of spots to simply float and soak up the Florida sunshine, Aquatica delivers the perfect mix of thrills and relaxation for every member of the family.

In the evening: Head to Disney Springs - a vibrant district of Walt Disney World Resort packed with world-class restaurants, spectacular entertainment and unique shops including the world's biggest Disney store.

Day 13 - Make the Most of Walt Disney World Resort

You don't want to go home until you've seen every last corner of Walt Disney World Resort. If there's any Disney Park you haven't yet managed to visit, now's the time - whether that's Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park or Disney's Hollywood Studios, each one offers a completely different experience worth discovering.

In the evening: If you're at Disney's Hollywood Studios, make sure you stay for FANTASMIC! — an extravaganza of lasers, lights and special effects that's one of the best nighttime shows at Walt Disney World Resort.

Day 14 - Do Something Different

There's much more to Florida than the theme parks - though they're a great place to start. If you want to discover a little more of what the state has to offer, why not try taking an airboat ride through the Everglades, seeing real astronauts and space shuttles at the Kennedy Space Center.

In the evening: If you haven't yet had the chance, treat yourself to one of Orlando's famous dinner shows. Enjoy a night of belly laughs at the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show at WonderWorks - well worth visiting the attraction itself just before dinner.
