Swim with Manatees!
About 80 manatees live in the warm waters of Crystal River all year round, but when it gets cold outside, around 300 more join them to enjoy the heat. It’s your time to meet some of them!
Florida's beautiful Crystal River is the only place in the USA where you are legally allowed to interact with manatees, so grab your swimsuit and get ready to snorkel with these endangered gentle giants.
Don’t shy away from giving them belly rubs either – the manatees love those!
Rather do something else?
If getting up close to the giant manatees isn’t your cup of tea, you can swap your manatee swim for a different water activity. Choose to go paddle boarding or kayaking instead!
Explore Homosassa State Wildlife Park
Our next stop is Homosassa State Wildlife Park – Florida’s rehabilitation sanctuary for injured animals. Come face-to-face with even more manatees, bears and even a hippopotamus.
Meet “Lou” - the resident hippo! Find out how this non-native giant became an honorary citizen of the State of Florida.
Airboat ride on the Withlacoochee River
At the end of your tour, go for a thrilling 30-minute airboat ride on the picturesque Withlacoochee River. Learn interesting facts about the local wildlife from your on-board guide and soak in the incredible sights of Florida’s beautiful nature.

- The tour departs from designated pick-up points in Orlando between 7am and 8.30am.
- You’ll be returned to Orlando at approximately 5.30pm

What to wear
- We recommend wearing a swimsuit underneath your clothes
- We also advise bringing towels, sunscreen and a change of clothes for after your swim
- Wetsuits are available to rent on the day for $10 per person
