There are 11 countries represented throughout World Showcase inside the Epcot theme park at Walt Disney World. Each country offers its own themed entertainment, shopping and dining options
Recently, Spice Road Table, a unique waterfront dining destination, opened its doors to park guests in the Morocco Pavilion, which is situated on the World Showcase Lagoon between France and Japan.
Ambience, Food and Service
At this brand new restaurant, patrons have the choice of sitting outside on the covered terrace, which seats 120 guests, or inside where tables and cozy booths can accommodate up to 60 guests. Both seating options offer sweeping views of World Showcase Lagoon and Epcot’s night-time show Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.
Although the restaurant is full-service, it is unique in the fact that it offers small plates. Guests can sample regional Mediterranean cuisine and specialty drinks such as organic spiced sangria. You can get a pitcher for the table at just $34 or a single glass at $9.99.
Food options include small tapas sized plates ranging in price from $7-$12. You can choose from meaty options like the Lamb Slider, Brioche, Cucumber Dill and Mint Tzatziki Sauce, Moroccan Merguez Sausage, or the North African Lamb Sausage. Or enjoy one of the vegetarian options such as the Rice Stuffed Grape Leaves, Fried Capers, Raisins and Fresh Nutmeg, or the Hummus and Imported Olives with Cornichons and Za’atar Flat Bread. You can even find Morocco’s signature Epcot International Food and Wine Festival offering on the menu here year round, the Harissa Chicken Roll with Harissa Ketchup.
The restaurant includes a full-service bar which connects the indoor and outdoor seating. There are no bar stools available, but guests can order a drink and mingle in the beautiful lounge area or take their beverage with them as they continue to stroll around the World Showcase.
Want to Keep Moving? Get Take-out!
Speaking of strolling around World Showcase, there is also an exterior take-out counter at Spice Road Table where guests can grab a signature cocktail for $9.99 such as the Moroccarita (Vodka Lemon/Lime Juice and Triple Sec), Habibi Daiquiri (Rum, Strawberry and Orange Blossom Water) and Sultan’s Colada (Rum, Pineapple/Coconut Juice and Almond Liqueur). There are also non-alcoholic options like coffee, hot chocolate and soda.
If you want to save a few dollars, you can order your sangria from this take-away counter for $6.99. Also offered are assorted ice cream flavors and signature desserts.
Get your Table Early
Expect Spice Road Table to fill up around 8 p.m. when guests settle in for a few drinks and small plates as they prepare to watch the Illuminations: Reflections of Earth fireworks. The patio seating is likely to fill quickly during the cooler winter months while the indoor seating will be hard to come by during the hot and humid summer months.
Spice Road Table will be a great option for spur-of-the-moment dining as they are currently only accepting walk-up seating and are not part of Disney’s Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR) System.
Why not give the Spice Road Table a try on your next trip to Disney World?
