If you’re in Florida over the festive season, you can’t miss Universal Orlando’s Christmas celebrations – from parties with The Grinch to special Harry Potter drinks, the biggest balloons you’ve ever seen and lots more festive fun until January 2nd!
And the best bit? All the celebrations are free with your Universal Studios Tickets!
This 30-second time-lapse video will definitely get you in the mood for Christmas-time at Universal!
Here are the 6 things you shouldn’t miss at Universal Orlando this Christmas:
1. Macy’s Holiday Parade
The most fun, colourful, larger-than-life parade you’ve ever seen! Every evening the streets of Universal Studios are filled with gigantic balloons just like the ones from the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York. Our favourite? Definitely the Happy Hippo!
2. “Grinchmas” with The Grinch himself!
Forget Christmas – this year it’s all about Grinchmas! Head to Seuss Landing at Universal’s Islands of Adventure to see the heartwarming live show “Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular”, a live retelling of Dr. Seuss’s classic holiday tale.
Don’t miss the chance to meet the Grinch himself, get his autograph, shake his furry hand, and even have your photo taken with him – the perfect Christmas (sorry, Grinchmas) souvenir!
3. Hot Butterbeer at the Harry Potter Parks
Although Florida isn’t exactly known for its winter chill, you don’t need an excuse to try out the hot version of Harry Potter’s favourite drink – Butterbeer!
You can pick up a hot Butterbeer at various places in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter:
- Diagon Alley: The Leaky Cauldron, The Hopping Pot, The Fountain of Fair Fortune
- Hogsmeade: Three Broomsticks, Hog’s Head Pub
4. Live Christmas Music every weekend
Sing along to holiday classics as Mannheim Steamroller, the masters of modern Christmas music, perform live at the Music Plaza Stage in Universal Studios on select Saturday and Sunday nights.
5. Staying at a Universal Hotel?
Universal Orlando’s on-site hotels continue the celebrations, with special holiday buffets, tree-lighting ceremonies, Hanukkah candle lightings, visits from Santa Claus, holiday poolside “dive-in” movies and lots more!
6. A New Year’s Eve to remember at Universal CityWalk
(Separate ticket required)
Six different nightclubs, non-stop entertainment, unlimited gourmet cuisine and Orlando’s biggest dance floor – EVE at Universal CityWalk is quite simply the New Year’s Eve party to end all others!
There’s also champagne at midnight, awesome pyrotechnics, live music and signature drinks, for one night only on December 31st.
Planning to be in Florida this Christmas? Book Universal Studios Tickets if you want to be part of all the Christmas celebrations!
Universal Orlando’s Holidays celebrations run daily until January 2nd 2016.
